A Tune for Lewis | Piano Sheet Music | Arranged by Annette (FREE DOWNLOAD) - copy
Music can bring great healing … this beautiful melody was written by Kirstie McLanaghan for her son, lost to suicide in May 2021.
These are her words when she first posted the piece to YouTube:
"Lewis was 20 years young and a gentle, kind, clever and thoughtful young man. My world has stopped … I picked my fiddle up a few days after he died and this tune emerged. It is the only tune my fiddle can play at the moment so I thought I’d share."
Lewis Douglas Bell: 18 November 2000 - 15 May 2021
A common friend sent me a link to Kirstie playing the tune on her fiddle. I was drawn to the piano, in my own way I wanted to try and help.

Kirstie and I have not yet met, but hope to one day. We have exchanged a few emails, and here is her reply after I sent a link to my arrangement of "A Tune for Lewis":
Hi Annette, thank you doesn’t seem enough. Your playing is so beautiful and it was really emotional for me to hear you play Lew’s tune, I loved it.
I really hope we can play it together one day.
Much fiddle love, Kirstie x
