Reel Steps from Co Mayo, Online Workshop
'Step with Annette' is excited to offer this pre-summer online workshop!
Teaching a series of reel steps, originally from Patrick Touhey of Co Mayo. The steps were given to her by Patrick O'Dea - who received them from Matt Feerick in Fermoy, Co Cork. Matt was originally from Mayo and a pupil of Patrick Touhey.
There is very little repertoire original to Co Mayo available today, which makes these steps extra special.
For your information, each of the 4 steps have the same ending which aids learning. This workshop is aimed at the improver/intermediate dancer or above. For those who attended the Leitrim Dance Project at Easter, you may have seen me dance them with Jackie O'Riley one evening. I gave them to her a number of years ago and we love dancing them together.

Workshop Date: Tuesday 30 May, 2023
Workshop: 19.00 - 21:00 hrs (Irish time)
During the workshop we will work through each of the steps in turn.
After class you will receive:
- written notation of the steps
- a video showing a breakdown of each step
- a video of each of the steps danced at a number of speeds
- a video of all 4 steps
NB You can book online for more than 1 person, numbers will be capped.
Annette looks forward to leading you in dance - her reputation as a teacher of traditional dance grew hugely during covid. Her online programme reached as far west as Seattle, and east to Japan - teaching to a growing community of old style dancers from all around the world.
