St Brigid's Day, slip jig - FREE download
I have taught this dance a number of times, and recently uploaded the manuscript as support material.
Caitlín Nic Gabhann was commissioned by the Irish Traditional Music Archives (ITMA) to write a dance and tune to commemorate St Brigid.
She created a tune called St Brigid’s Day, a set dance in slip jig time (9/8); it has four 8 bar parts, each part is repeated.
Click here for further information and to watch Caitlin's performance of this stunning tune and dance.
Summary - you will receive an PDF file of the St Brigid's Day set dance, one A4 page of manuscript, if this page size doesn't work for you, drop me a line.
For those of you who are interested in learning this Old Style repertoire, come and join me in dance. Drop me a line to voice your interest and I will add you to my distribution list for further information, beginners welcome.
This dance is available in the shop as a home-study course, click here to view.
Part of the beauty of the Irish dance tradition is that it continues to be passed on from one generation to the next.
