This dance called "Single Time", danced to a tune of the same name, was taught in the 1920s by a Miss O'Keefe, a dancing teacher from Kilkee who visited the schools in the Labasheed area. A comfortable dancing tempo would be around 65 bars per minute.
It is a version of "Maggie Pickens" and the tune is a jig version of "Maggie in the Wood".
