"Annette has a rare gift for teaching dance on zoom"
Level 1 (beginner) | 19.00 - 19.50 pm (Irish time) - in the beginner level you will learn an easy routine, Annette has choreographed some easy hornpipe steps - she will also take a little time each week to demonstrate other dance types: reel, hornpipe, slip jig etc.
Level 4 | 20.00 - 20.50 pm (Irish time) - for those with a good background in Irish step dancing or other forms of percussive dance, where many movements will already be known, or easily picked up and we will work on building repertoire. Teaching a series of hornpipe steps from May Allen of Co Antrim, given to her by Mary McGuiggan - these can be seen on Mary's South Derry Dancing video.
Level 2 | 19.00 - 19.50 pm (Irish time) - for those with some experience, this could be 2 or 3 terms of Annette’s beginner class, or other percussive dance forms. Teaching some Sean Nós reel steps from Brenda O'Callaghan, taken from a series of steps that she calls "Dotty Gillen".
Level 3 | 20.00 - 20.50 pm (Irish time) - for those who have been dancing a while and are ready to start memorising longer and more complicated routines. Teaching a series of 2 reel steps from Thady Casey of Co Clare and 2 other steps from Patrick O'Dea.
